Interstate 75
I-75 runs for approximately 1 mile through Cherokee County. It continues south into Cobb County and north into Bartow County. The segment that includes Cherokee County is
named for the late former U.S. Rep. Larry McDonald. Exit 277 (SR-92 in Acworth) is the only exchange from I-75 in the county.*
Interstate 575
I-575 runs for approximately 23 miles through Cherokee County. The highway is named for the late former U.S. Rep. Phillip M. Landrum.
It continues south into Cobb County and north into Pickens County.*
There are no U.S. Highways, past or present, in Cherokee County.
State Routes
Phillip M. Landrum Memorial Highway
SR-5 runs concurrently with I-575 for its entire length through Cherokee County. The formal name of the I-575/SR-5 road is the Phillip M. Landrum Memorial Highway.
Riverstone Parkway
Riverstone Parkway is designated as SR-5-Business (Canton). It is the southernmost of the two SR-5-Business spurs in Cherokee County.
Howell Bridge Road
Howell Bridge Rd. is designated as SR-5-Business (Ball Ground). It is the northernmost of the two SR-5-Business spurs in Cherokee County.
Knox Bridge Road
SR-20 runs east-west into Cherokee County from Bartow County through Sutallee, Canton, Lathemtown and Free Home into Forsyth County. It runs concurrently with
I-575 and SR-140 for part of its length in Cherokee County.
Alabama Road
SR-92 runs east-west through Cherokee County from Bartow in the west through Woodstock into Cobb County in the east. It is simply called "Highway 92."
It is the only road in the county with interchanges at both I-75 and I-575.
Fincher Road
SR-108 runs from Sutallee in the west to Waleska and Reinhardt College to the northeast and into Pickens County.
Reinhardt College Parkway/Hickory Flat Highway/Arnold Mill Road
SR-140 runs northwest-to-southeast through Cherokee County from Bartow County into the town of Milton in Fulton County.
Hightower Road/Matt Highway
SR-369 runs east-west through the northern part of the county from Macedonia in Cherokee into Forsyth County near Matt.
Birmingham Road/Ball Ground Road
Running north-south into Cherokee County from Fulton County in the south to Pickens County in the north, SR-372 passes through Lathemtown and Free Home toward Ball Ground and Nelson.
* Interstate highways in Georgia also have "hidden" state highway numbers assigned to them for accounting and budgetary purposes. I-75 is also SR-401, and I-575 is also SR-417.
